Thursday, June 24, 1999 -- Pictured are STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association ("S.V.A.") Ambassadress Cristina Hayworth (up from Puerta Rica) and bussing a very amused and fun-filled New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.  S.V.A. President and contact for the event Willson L. Henderson is laughing big time.  In the rear, S.V.A. Vice-President Jeremiah Newton is beaming.  Literally to the far left is former S.V.A. correspondent and diehard Brooklyn lesbian Harriet "Mo" Garblestein.  The event was the annual "NYC Mayor's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Celebration" at Gracie Mansion.

At this popular event, well-covered by all facets of the media, Mayor Giuliani proudly announced the Federal government decision to historically add the legendary Stonewall site in Greenwich Village into the "United States Registry of Historic Places".  The landmark decision was done at this time to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the historic 1969 Stonewall Rebellion started by the visionary and now legendary Stonewallers of the S.V.A. and others.  On the local G.L.B.T. level, Mayor Rudy proclaimed:  "With all that Willson Lee Henderson has done for the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender community since his arrest the first night at the historic Stonewall Rebellion to his fighting for G.L.B,T rights to this day and beyond, therefore, I declare Willson Henderson as the real life 'Gay Rosa Parks'"!

Mayor Rudy Giuliani was with the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association just three days later leading the annual New York City Gay Pride Parade down famous Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.  When Mayor Rudy used to march with the un-popular NYC Log Cabin Gay Republicans, the Mayor unfairly received many boos and hisses from many of the parade spectators.  In sharp contrast, whenever Mayor Rudy marched with the STONEWALL V.A. and the famous, knock-out, blue, classic 1969 convertible "Stonewall Car" leading the parade, he received cheers and kisses from the crowds of spectators!  Mayor Rudy gladly observed and verbally commented on the very welcomed change!  By the way, Rudy loves the big car... big time!
