Some "Stonewall Symposium" Panelists [Photo by Jeremiah J. Newton] Pictured above (l-2-r) are: Jim "The Rat" Fouratt (a shady subject of the original "Stonewall" book), then S.V.A. Vice-President and symposium organizer Willson L. Henderson (Stonewall Vet consultant on the movie "Stonewall"), Sylvia Rae Rivera (also a subject of the book "Stonewall") and Randy Wicker (interview cameo in the movie "Stonewall" -- arranged by Willson). The event was held at the New York.City Gay Community Services Center on Friday evening, June 20, 1997. Stormé DeLarverie was also a Stonewall veteran panelist as well as the SVA's Chief-of-Security. The S.V.A. charged the same admission that The Stonewall Club charged 27 years earlier on weekends: $3. The S.V.A. allowed PWA's and indigent G.L.B.T. people such as S/W vet Ivana 'Barata' Valentin in for free. The audience was enthralled, many asked for our autographs and took photographs. Pictured below (l-2-r) are: Stonewall veterans Terri Van Dyke (S.V.A. Treasurer), Rusty B. Rose (then S.V.A. Recording Secretary) and Jeremiah Jay Newton (then S.V.A. President); moderator NYC Judge Karen S. Burstein (the SVA's Corporate Counsel) and Stonewall vet panelist Willson L. Henderson (S.V.A. Director) -- wearing the exact blue with white piping, short-sleeved shirt that he was arrested in at the Stonewall Rebellion on Friday night, June 27, 1969. See the New York City Police Department (NYCPD) "mug shot" photo on S.V.A.'s "Photo Album, Biographies and Narratives" website page.

identified lesser persons in other photos), are as follows:

[Photo is by attorney photographer Hal M. The S.V.A. had its always super interesting and lively "S.V.A. Questions and Answers Session" from the audience and media. The SVA's current President, Jeremiah Newton, was a co-moderator as he was in 1995 and 1996. SVA's chief founder Willson Henderson produced, directed and managed the semi-complex event. It is a public and unique educational project of the S.V.A. This year's celebrity Gay person moderator is former New York State Attorney General nominee Karen S. Burstein. The S.V.A. allows cameras at our events. This is an event to photograph! It is no longer the mostly "closet case" 1960s and 1970s. Some previous Stonewall veteran panelists of the S.V.A. over the years such as Steven Konigsberg, Aubrey Drummond, Sonia Attkiss, Eddie Wright, Ramon Bellido, Leroi Carr and Stanley Dunne are sadly no longer living. Mark the date on your calendar or in your datebook to attend a living Gay history lesson!
