Like Zsa Zsa Gabor who died just ten days ago, Debbie Reynolds is a Hollywood icon who was also a longtime Gay favorite....... Her acclaimed movies include "Singing In The Rain" (1952), "The Affairs Of Dobie Gillis" (1953), "The Tender Trap" (1955), co-starring Frank Sinatra, "Meet Me In Las Vegas" (1956), "The Catered Affair" (1956), "How The West Was Won" (1962), "The Unsinkable Molly Brown" (1964), "The Singing Nun" (1966), "What's The Matter With Helen?" (1971) (a very campy and Gay fave), "In And Out" (1997) (about a school teacher who is accidentally outed as Gay), and "Behind The Candelabra" (2013) (as the mother of Gay Liberace). Debbie had a beautiful ballad #1 song in 1957 entitled "Tammy" from her movie "Tammy And The Bachelor". Miss Reynolds is the mother of actress Carrie Fisher who died suddenly... yesterday!

Known as the best holiday party of all the Manhattan political clubs, this Downtown Independent Democrats ("DID") party is always fun, fun, fun. Confirmed New York judges include Doris Ling-Cohan, Anthony Cannataro, Robert R. Reed, Andrea Masley, David Cohen, Barbara Jaffe, Frank Nervo and Lynn Walker. This is a social event so judges may attend! The holiday shindig is co-hosted by DID president Jeanne K. Wilcke and DID treasurer Sean J. Sweeney. The S.V.A. is represented by its director Williamson Henderson and members of the S.V.A. Board of Directors including Hal Weiner, Steven Gradman and Ramon Bellido. Some people do not know that S.V.A. has a B/D. (See the SVA's website homepage.) This year's DID party, like last year, is at the popular Grassroots Tavern on St. Mark's Place off Third Avenue in the East Village, Manhattan, N.Y. Festivities begin @ 6 p.m.

The first name itself, Zsa Zsa, is a clue that the person is likely to be a Gay favorite! Zsa Zsa Gabor was! As part of the original Gabor Sisters (with Eva and Magda), Zsa Zsa always evoked beauty since she won "Miss Hungary" in 1936 and glamour ever since her grand arrival in America! Zsa Zsa starred in the original "Moulon Rouge" released in late 1952. One of her cult fave films is "Queen Of Outer Space"! Years ago, Zsa Zsa notoriously slapped a uniformed California policeman across the face and called him a "stupid bitch" after he informed her that he was giving her a traffic ticket! Long story short, at a much later date, she served three days in jail! The entire Hollywood saga brought Zsa Zsa tremendous (free) publicity! Ultimately, Zsa Zsa always got the last laugh, especially living until nearly 100!

Thursday, December 1, 2016 -- AIDS MEMORIAL PARK DEDICATION in GREENWICH VILLAGE, NY

The New York City AIDS Memorial Park will be dedicated today, most appropriately on World AIDS Day! The STONEWALL Veterans' Associationwas one of the first groups to endorse and support this AIDS project, remembering all of the Gay victims. The S.V.A. is one of the, if not thee, most effected groups in loss of life due to the AIDS War! Many of the SVA-ers names will be read aloud at the event! The public dedication marks the culmination of over five years of planning and development to build the memorial, which involved significant private and public support. The AIDS Memorial project was launched in 2011 to recognize and preserve the history of the AIDS crisis through the creation of a memorial to honor New York City's 100,000+ men, women and children who have died from AIDS, and to commemorate and celebrate the efforts of the caregivers and activists who responded heroically to the crisis. This year, the National STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans' Association ("S.V.A.") is holding this anniversary event at the LGBT Community Center from 4:15 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. There will be many surprise guests! The featured political candidate is Dr. Phil J. Rosenthal for Congress, the honorable alternative to in-cum-bent The Natler, most recently known for his stealing of the "STONEWALL historic site" deceiving the public like he's the reason! Some of The Natler's staff have also been named -- under oath by others -- of having slandered the S.V.A. Besides an anniversary meeting and party, the happening serves as an appropriate and timely fund-raiser for the non-profit S.V.A. This is also "Gay History Month"! "We are your history!" Event is charismatically hosted by the totally-new hairstyled Williamson Henderson. Special "STONEWALL" (S/W) report about the original club by S/W veteran Jeremiah Jay Newton. Public official updates served up by Mendy Seltza. Developments in an SVA plaintiff legal action are informed by Joan "J.C." Sobel. The Youth-for-SVA division will be upadted by Eldon L. Johnson. Original "Songs of the 1969 Stonewall Club Jukebox" will be played by that h-o-t "Dancing Machine" (a J-5 song) DJ AnDre Christie! September 11th, 2016 -- TRIBUTE: 15th ANNIVERSARY of the SEPTEMBER 11th, 2001, TERRORIST ATTACKS!!!!

This the truly tragic fifteenth anniversary of the four extremist Islamic terrorist attacks, cowardly hijacking / stealing commercial jetliners, filled with unsuspecting passengers and innocent victims, and inhumanely crashing the airplanes into various civilian targets in New York (twice), Virginia (near Washington, DC), and Pennsylvania killing all of the passengers and thousands of people in the buildings! The structures included both of the Twin Towers at the World Trade Center in Manhattan and the Pentagon in the District of Columbia. The fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, with the courageous passengers bravely overtaking the cowardly terrorist hijackers, crashed into an open field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. The Bronx knows how to throw a great party! The STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans' Association ("S.V.A.") has been attending political functions in the The Bronx spanning five decades! The special keynote speaker is New York State Governor Andrew M. Cuomo. He gave a riveting speech, rather timely including "Watch out for the slanderers, the libelers and the liars! Whether you see them or not, they're out there. They think if they repeat certain lies enough times, some people will actually believe them. They will! Watch-out!" It was refreshing to have the NYS Assembly Speaker Carl D. Heastie (not the prison-bound Shelly 'the Schmuck' Silver). NYS Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman was a prime speaker. It was nice of him to point out that he has been a supporter of the S.VA. for twenty years! Other public officials included NYS senators J. Gustavo Rivera and Jose M. Serrano, Jr. and NYS assemblymembers Jeffrey Dinowitz, LaToya Joyner and Victor Pichardo. Event was lively hosted by The Bronx County Democratic Chairman and NYS Assemblyman Marcos A. Since the Federal government of the United States of America declared the landmark Stonewall site, in New York City, a real and inarguable tribute to the S.V.A., amongst some others, guess what? The S.V.A. is going national, too! In fact, we the S.V.A. has been, in reality, 'national' since we started in 1969! Therefore, National STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans' Association!!!!! (FYI, our acronym remains S.V.A. )

Monday, June 27 -- 1969 STONEWALL REBELLION ANNIVERSARY

"June 27th" is the most significant date in Gay history! For years and years no one ever stated the date of the first night of the Stonewall Uprising as the '28th'. After all, it was the day that Judy Garland had her final appearnce / happening in Manhattan and it was the night of Friday, June 27th! No one at The STONEWALL Club looked at their watch (if they wore one) and exclaimed: "Ohh, look, it's past midnight and it's now 01:19 maritime and police hours"! Think The Beatles song "A Hard Day's Night". It was Friday night! The following night, Saturday, June 28th, was the second night of the Stonewall Rebellion! We did not have two rebellions on the same day! Happy Stonewall Anniversary to all of the surviving veterans of the now legendary -- thanks to us -- Stonewall! The Stonewall Rebellion legacy and 411 has been consistently provided by -- and only by -- the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association! You won't read any of this real Gay history in the NYC Gayragpaper! They wouldn't know. And, if they did, they'd lie about it. Over the Independence Weekend, many Stonewall veterans from the S.V.A. shall be gathering together for a Stonewall Supper to celebrate the 47th anniversary of our collective GLBT Independence!

Stonewall veterans shown are Williamson Henderson, Bert Coffman and Joan Sobel. The news clip includes Congresswoman Yvette D. Clarke speaking about the importance of the S.V.A. and the lasting designation of The STONEWALL Inn as a national landmark. Sunday, June 26 -- NEW YORK CITY 47th ANNUAL GAY, LESBIAN, BISEXUAL and TRANSGENDER PRIDE PARADE

The legendary STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans' Association shall be 'le grande finale' of the New York City7 47th Annual GLBT Pride Parade! As always, the S.V.A. will have a prominent public official or special celebrity guest! The SVA's flotilla of convertibles shall include the blue classic 1969 Cadillac "Stonewall Convertible"! There is no greater or more famous vehicle in any Gay Pride Parade! The wagonmaster is Williamson Henderson. Stonewall veterans riding in the classic convertible are Williamson, Patti Stone, Leigh McManus, Bert Coffman and Joan 'J.C.' Sobel. There will be more Stonewall vets in a second green Chevrolet convertible and in the lead car black Chrysler sedan. The SVA's office manager AnDre Christie drives the "Stonewall Car"! Don't get too close -- to the car! The late time parade line-up for the S.V.A. is 4 p.m. This will be a 'yuuuge' parade made 'yuuuuge' as a tribute to the Gay and other victims of the Orlando, Florida massacre exactly two weeks ago and the celebration of the federal designation made on June 24th by the President Barack making the Stonewall historic site the first GLBT national landmark! Perhaps next year, the focus, for the first time since "Stonewall 30", will be on the veterans of the Stonewall Rebellion -- the ones who ignited it all?!

Actual 'veterans' of the 1969 Stonewall Rebellion attend from several states in America to speak at the S.V.A. podium with a microphone! SVA's "Invocation" is performed by Pastor Mark E. Erson of the welcoming and diverse St. John's Lutheran Church on Gay Christopher Street -- a block down from The Stonewall -- in Greenwich Village, NY. Female Keynoter is the legendary New York State Justice Doris Ling-Cohan. The male keynote speaker is NYCPD Detective Brian E. Downey, president of the Gay Officers' Action League ("GOAL")! The first program speaker is the S.V.A. Honorary Chairperson namely the wonderful U.S. Congressmember Carolyn Jane "Carolina" Maloney. Prominent speakers include, for example, U.S. Congressmembers Yvette D. Clarke, Hakeem S. Jeffries and Nydia M. Velazquez and Manhattan congressional candidates Keith L.T. Sunday, June 12 -- WORST MASS SHOOTING in AMERICA -- at a GAY CLUB!

The worst mass killing in the United States of America was, of course, obviously anti-American and anti-Gay at a Gay Club by an extremist Islamic-inspired terrorist happened by a maniacal cowardly killer in Orlando, Florida. Over 50 Gay people and their friends, many of the fatal and injured victims were not only Gay males of all colors but females and many were non-Gay attending the Gay bar and dance club named Pulse. This gross, mindless, hateful tragedy occurred in the middle of Gay Pride Month. President Barack Obama held a national press conference on this horrific event and referenced Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender people and the GLBT victims today. The president advised: "...not to turn on each other". The president had the American flag at The White House flown at half mast in remembrance of the GLBT, and their friends, victims of the terrific attack of terror against America and hate against GLBT people....

Saturday, May 28 -- STONEWALL VETERANS' ASSOCIATION PRE-PRIDE MONTHLY MEETING

This is the last regular monthly meeting of the season. Main topic is the planning and preparation of the "S.V.A. Conference". Appropriate pre-Pride guest speaker is Brian E. Downey, elected president of the Gay Officers Action League ("GOAL"). Members of the S.V.A. present and GOAL's Brian reviewed the long history of the two organizations going back to 1982! Brian was well-prepared, well-spoken and positively progressive with getting the two groups back on track together! Next month on the last Saturday is the annual S.V.A. conference and Stonewall reunion. At said event is also the election of the next S.V.A. director. The SVA's program and fiscal year ends on June 30 of every year. Today's S.V.A. meeting was chaired by Williamson Henderson. The 1969 "Stonewall Car" is currently in the longtime Manhattan auto shop -- driven there by SVA's office manager AnDre Christie -- for the famous vehicle's annual bumper-to-bumper check up and repairs and replacements to be ready for all the events of Gay Pride Month!

Monday, May 9 -- "STONEWALL HISTORIC SITE" HEARING and TESTIMONIALS

Thanks to what the Gay boys and Gay girls (it was not 'men and women') and their straight friends did nearly 47 years ago, the U.S. Federal government is finally going to act on what was the plan proposed by the STONEWALL Rebellion Veterans Association at the time of "STONEWALL 25" in 1994: create the entire Stonewall site as a national landmark and transform Sheridan Square (Triangle) aka Christopher Park into Stonewall Memorial Park! The S.V.A. has numerous letters from public officials and GLBT organizations confirming all of this! The original S.V.A.-commissioned artist Dahn Hiuni will be present with the authentic drawing. Confirmed Stonewall veterans include S.V.A. director Williamson Henderson, S.V.A. Executive Committee members Nance Lomax, Leigh McManus, Michael Levine, Bert Coffman and Jitterz Greenfield and former member Gil-da Horowitz -- plus S.V.A. legal advisor Hal M. Weiner, S.V.A. public relationist Bruce A. Poli and S.V.A. administrator forFaceBook Sanjay Peters in addition to the aforementioned Mr. Hiuni. This national proposal is sponsored by the National Parks Conservation Association ("NPCA"). Sincere public officials such as U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, NYS Governor Andrew Cuomo, Congresswoman Carolyn Maloney and Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer are co-sponsoring this proposal. Unfortunately, there are still unsupportive of S.V.A. and unethical electeds who are trying to steal the SVA's project as their own, particularly "The Phat Man" and his Gay elves 'Brat Holeman' and 'The Glickster'. The "hearings" with testimonials at a podium and mic as to why this should be a national landmark and little park to commemorate the historic milestone of the Stonewall Rebellion on June 27, 1969 and four other nights, are open to the public. Without our members living and, sadly, mostly deceased, and some others, there would be no "STONEWALL"! It would have just been another Gay club but with dancing.
